Forensic Science

Are you fascinated by True Crime? Have you envisioned yourself in the field, collecting evidence to solve murder mysteries? Then, come to WPU Forensics Camp and find the detective that resides inside you! 

This program will teach you about popular forensic topics such as blood typing, DNA, and fingerprints. Each day, you will conduct at least two labs to apply this new knowledge. You will: 

• Analyze blood spatter, shoe impressions, fingerprints, DNA, and toxicology. 
• Understand how popular shows such as CSI contribute to public misconceptions about forensic science.
• Understand the importance of DNA in forensic science, with a general overview of the biochemical nature of DNA. 

On the last day of camp, you will apply the skills you have learned to collect, preserve and analyze evidence found at the crime scene. 

No prior knowledge of Forensic Science is required. Camp is daily Monday-Thursday 9:00am - 4:00pm
